Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam was a former president of India and a space scientist. He was popularly known as Missile Man. From 2002 to 2007 Abdul Kalam was the 11th former president of India. He got his position due to his complete devotion in the field of Science and Technology. He didn’t get this opportunity due to politics but by his dreams and hard work.
Let’s know his story from the beginning –
Let’s start with his childhood experience, he was born on 15th October 1931 at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. The full name of A.P.J Abdul Kalam was Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. His father name was Jainulabdeen. His father works as a river crossing person. From the beginning they were very poor, They just think to have 2-time meals in a day. Due to poverty Kalam have to do work for the livelihood. So after coming from the home, he began to sell newspapers and magazines door to door after taking up all these efforts he had given his complete importance towards studies. He has the curiosity to learn something new every time. After all this, he had taken admission in St.Joseph’s College for further studies.
A step towards his Research
Although his family was so poor, all of his family members had supported Kalam for his studies. He went to Madras And took admission in Madras Institute of Technology for advanced studies. He was learning Aerospace engineering. After completing his engineering he opted as the scientist in DRDO company. There he began to start his carrier by making a helicopter for Indian Airforce. But Kalam was not satisfied to work in DRDO as there he has to do one type work on regular basis. So after few years, he got the transfer to ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization).He works here as a Director of launching satellites into space and from here he began to work and made various powerful missiles for Indian Army.
About his achievements and knowledge
By seeing his motivation towards his work and carrier. So in 2002, he opted as the President of India and his work till 2007 as a President. After all these, he went too old to take rest but he worked as a professor in various place so that he can spread his knowledge for the upcoming generation. For the betterment of humanity, he had donated his full life. On 27th July 2015, he met with a heart attack due to which we all lost our Missile man. We all proud to be an Indian.
